Girls Don't Cry, as you might expect from the name, is made up of five female members, Liz Kelly (drums, vocals), Rachael Cornick (keys, vocals), Hannah Fairlight (guitars, vocals), Caitlin Gray (bass, vocals), and Sora-An (guitars, vocals) .

The band has been playing in clubs and venues located throughout the New York City nightlife honing their skills. This three-song promo gives a good snack sized bit of their music. The band says that the three songs found on it are, "Our favorites from over a year and a half of hard work."

The band pulls on several musical styles to create their sound. Track-1 "American Boy," starts out with a Jimi Hendrick's-esque acid rock guitar riff before quickly breaking into a dance pop groove. Track-2 "That's The Sound" is a keyboard rich new wave feeling track with several tempo changes in it. The last track, "Cobain," is an all out rocker with its guitar lead driving beats.

If you're into a Violent Femmes meets the The Go Go's sound then Girls Don't Cry is the band for you.
