Below is a recent interview the band done with me.
1. The first thing I need to ask you about is the band's name and how you chose it?
We live in Ballard, a Scandinavian fishing village on the Puget Sound. There is a Sons of Norway Hall down the street from our house. We always wanted to play a show there, even though we are Swedish. So we are called the Sons of Sweden. Someday we will storm the Sons of Norway Hall.
2. Who are some of your musical influences?
We grew up in nineties Seattle (except Kate who listened from across the country). The underground scene here was dominated by Tooth and Nail bands. We still listen to Starflyer 59 obsessively. Morella's Forest is Kate's guilty pleasure. Others that are often referenced during songwriting sessions include Mazzy Star, Stars, Pedro the Lion, Shout Out Louds, Wilco, Neko Case, Bob Dylan, R.E.M. The Smiths, The Cure...
3. What do you hope people take away with them after hearing your music?
Whatever they're looking for.
4. Besides your own music what was the last music CD that you listened to?
Boxer- The National
5. Where can people buy your music?
Amazon.com, Itunes.com, Sonicboomrecords.com (our favorite record store!)
6. Has anything strange or funny ever happened to you while performing on stage?
Only the unmentionable.
7. What's the one dream place that you would like to perform a show at?
The now defunct Crocodile in Seattle, WA (it was our favorite place to play)
8.Anything we missed that you would like to tell the readers?
We feel privileged to have occupied a bit of your time. Thanks for the love.
